FAQ

What’s the difference between ‘limited edition’ and ‘open edition’?

Limited edition prints are only available in small limited numbers that go down as the size goes up. They are each hand-numbered and signed in pencil just beneath the image area in the white border. The artist keeps the original print and offers only 50 numbered and signed prints worldwide, spread over 4 sizes. This means that your print is 1 out of only 50 numbered prints in the entire world, ever produced. Once a size or edition has sold out, there won’t be any more available no matter how much you try to persuade us. Prices for any given limited edition print may rise as its availability decreases, especially in the bigger sizes, it pays off to be amongst the first buyers. Open edition prints are open artworks, which means they have no limit in their print run and are thus not numbered and neither signed. Open edition prints therefore cost less than limited editions. Otherwise, classic edition prints are identical in appearance and quality to signed and numbered prints.

Do you offer Certificates of Authenticity?

We can issue certificates upon request. Each limited edition print is signed and numbered and therefore we believe the print itself is the Certificate of Authenticity. If, however you want a certificate, we are more than happy to produce one for you. Just let us know when finalising your order.

Do you offer framed fine-art prints?

Sure. We offer custom-made framing options for any artwork in store. We work with carefully selected types of solid wood, anti-glare ART-glass, and several forms of passe-partouts (matt board). Framing a print can be a very personal endeavor depending on the final location the work will be displayed; therefore we are ready to help you picking the right materials and colors. Please send an email to hello@iamvictorvidal.com to request a quote and to receive samples.

Do your prints come with white border?

Yes, the fine-art prints come with a white border. The width of the border depends on the size of the print. Borders can go up to 5cm for the bigger artworks. Limited edition works will then be signed and numbered on the bottom right and bottom left. On top of that, having a white border will make life of the framers easier as well.

Do you sell bigger sizes than those offered in the store?

We sure do. All ‘open edition’ prints are available in any custom size. Please send an email to hello@iamvictorvidal.com to inquire for prices. All ‘limited edition’ prints only come in the sizes provided on the website with the biggest available size being 100x150cm or 100x140cm depending on the image ratio. Those are personally printed by the artist and belong to his personal collection, they are hand signed and truly unique pieces. Price and size upon request.

What type of paper do you use for the fine-art prints?

As a wildlife conservation photographer and a perfectionist all at once, I’m always on a quest for more sustainable printing solutions without making concessions to quality. The brand-new Hahnemuhle Natural Line offers me exactly that.

Therefore all my fine-art paintwork is printed on the sustainable Hemp paper, entirely made from natural raw materials (60% hemp and 40% cotton) without the use of pesticides and chemicals, and while using substantially less water. In the world of printing, this paper is with a distance the most sustainable solution.

All my artwork is printed with Epson Stylus Pro 11880 printers or Sure Color SC-P20000 inktjet printers. The finest details are guaranteed with UltraChrome K3-inktset as well as the Epson Micro Piezo ™ technology.

Can I order a print that is not in store or order a custom-made size?

Absolutely. Please email to hello@iamvictorvidal.com with the image of your preference or your desired sizing.

How long will it take to ship my print?

All artworks have a production time of around 10-14 business days after confirming your order. After production your order will be dispatched from the print lab in The Spain and shipping times depend on the final destination:

The Spain: 2-4 working days

Rest of Europe: 4-14 working days

Rest of World: up to 21 working days

Due to the enormous traffic at local post agencies and the constraints because of COVID orders will take longer to arrive at their destinations. This is completely out of our control. We apologise for that.

Where do you ship?

Prints ship worldwide. Dibond artworks, acrylic glass artworks and framed artworks ship within The Spain and certain European countries. However, all orders of 70x105cm and up that need to shipped outside of Europe, might have an additional surcharge confirmed by email after check-out. I you intent to order a static piece from outside of Europe, please inquire for a shipping quote by email first since international shipping of high-value pieces is very expensive and the risk of damage in transit is high.

What is your return policy?

All artworks are made to order and are therefore non refundable. If you would like to amend your order, please send an email to hello@iamvictorvidal.com

However, if your print has arrived damaged and you can show that it was damaged in transit (before arrival), we will replace it on receipt of the damaged print back to us (shipping at own costs).
